Help for the People of Mexico and Puerto Rico: UVa Multicultural Services
This semester, we have witnessed ecological disasters throughout the Americas. If you want to help the people of Mexico and Puerto Rico recover from the recent earthquake and hurricanes, the Office of Multicultural Services has prepared a list of recommended agencies to support. Lecture on Cuba's Periodo Especial by Elzbieta Sklodowska
Elzbieta Sklodowska, who has just published Invento luego resisto: El Periodo Especial en Cuba como experiencia y metáfora (1990-2015), will give a lecture focusing on the material culture of the “Periodo Especial” on Wednesday November 8 at 4:30 pm, Gibson 211.
The title is “Post-Soviet (Re)collections: From Artifact to Artifice in the Wake of the ‘Special Period’ in Cuba”.
