Kristin Connor received her Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in 2016. She also holds a B.A. in Latin American Studies and an M.A. in Spanish Language Literature and a graduate certificate in Translation from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Kristin's academic areas of interest are the Early Modern period, Colonial Literature, poetry, comedias and theater. She is also very interested in literary theory, translation theory and feminist theory. She is currently working on her dissertation "Castrating Bitches,' which focuses on questions of gender in Transatlantic Spanish Language Literature.

Some of the authors and works examined in her dissertation are the lyric poetry of Boscan, Garcilaso de la Vega and Herrera, as well as Ercilla's epic poem La Araucana. In her free time, Kristin enjoys traveling, cooking, running, knitting, and dancing salsa or tango.
